I introduce a new and super talented electronic pop band; Orion. Now, most electro-pop music features a vocalist who sounds like he is in high school. BUT! the lead singer of this band, James Paek, sounds like John Legend. Can you imagine electro-pop music with the vocals of John Legend? It’s a new breed of music.
If you don’t know them yet, it is probably a good idea to like them now before they get super famous and you can say “I liked them before it was cool to like them.”

Feats in Inches EP release concert was a blast! so much talent packed into that warehouse. Alex Hwang and the HwangJ’s opened up for them. Can’t wait for their EP release concert.

Me and couple friends went to the Fullerton July 4th Festival. It was held at the Fullerton High School football stadium. It was a pretty interesting event. Alot of food vendors, a petting zoo, carnival style games, huge statue of liberty dancing around and a live band that covered a wide range (from Evanescence to Neil Diamond). It was really amazing to see all different types of people with ethnic backgrounds celebrating the Independence of America.

Anyways, didnt get to take alot of shots. I was too busy eating. enjoy!

Hello hello everyone! … just came back from the Art-a-Fair fest. in Laguna Beach. I was there to show love/support for Julie’s parents. (their art is amazing btw) Well anyway, they didnt allow any photography…so i snuck a few crappy ones here and there…(now the goood part)…. well i was walking around with my friend Brian eating free food, making small talk with artists…and suddenly! WOOOOBAAM! Kina Grannis! so of course im gonna risk getting kicked out for a picture. I have seriously, serioulsy never have been that starstruck…if you dont know who she is…well thats a disgrace. She has a BOMBBB voice. Also writes her own stuff (which i respect a whoooole lot).

So last semester, we had a midterm project on composition and lighting. Our assigment was to create 5-6 images of the same subject. To hone my skills in food photogpahy, i choose to do fruits and vegetables. THe most important thing i have learned from this project is ………. MIRRORS are aweesome! In many of my shots, mirrors gave me alot of fill and specular highlights. Mirrors are useful because they are small and gives you precision lighting. I love you mirrors.

Main light coming from the right. A mirror to give fill on the left. Notice that awesome highlight on the apple!? yep…thats from a mirror.

Main light on the back of the lemon, used a mirror for fill in the front. Yep yep! the specular spots on the lemon was created by the mirror!

For this shot, the main light is coming from the back. This not only creates nice backlight, but also illuminates that lemon and makes it “glow”. One huge mirror in the front. (notice the sparkly kiwi)
