Still can’t get over how wonderful this wedding was. Julie and Andrew held their simple yet elegant wedding at the Serendipity Garden in Oak Glen. They were looking for something farmhouse chic so this venue was perfect for them!

Julie and Andrew’s love story began by swiping right on Tinder. She was boarding a plane to Japan and the app was being glitchy so they exchanged numbers. They texted non-stop, mostly about the food she was enjoying in Tokyo. When she landed back to the States, she had a text waiting for her with a “Welcome home *pizza emoji.” Andrew had no idea that Julie LOVES pizza! I think it’s fair to say they were a match made in food heaven!

FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT THE GROOM?

“I love that Andrew challenges me, inspires me to always reach higher, and always supports me. He’s always down to do anything and constantly surprises me. He also is the smartest guy I know – like ask him anything, he’ll know.”

FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT THE BRIDE?

Andrew loves her thoughtful relationship with family/friends, her adventurous spirit (she takes him out of his comfort zone and he usually doesn’t regret it), her ability to be a totally awesome homebody but also go out and let loose, and her cooking.

WHAT WAS TOTALLY “YOU” ABOUT YOUR WEDDING?

“The drinks – my dad made us our signature cocktails (even sliced the cucumber garnish), Andrew chose the Hangar 24 beer local to the area (Andrew went to medical school at Loma Linda) and I chose the Mikkeller IPA (tried this in Copenhagen and loved it!)

Remi (my golden doodle) as the ring bearer – I am a crazy dog mom. Post wedding, I have diverted all my wedding planning energy into planning Remi’s first birthday pawty where 25 of his dog friends are coming to celebrate him.

Our totally imperfect but perfect first dance – we had so much fun taking dance lessons. In one video from a friend, someone commented “they’re so stubborn, they won’t let each other take the lead”

FAVORITE MEMORY OF THE DAY?
“Sparkler exit (more of a midway exit?) that was supposed to be at the end of the night but spontaneously got moved to the middle – it was so great to see all our friends and family so excited to celebrate us. We really made this our day and after the ceremony, pretty much went off script/timeline and did whatever we wanted.”
ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

“Don’t take everything too seriously and have fun! Identify a handful of must-do’s where blowing the budget a little bit is ok because wedding expenses quickly add up and it can get overwhelming. Everyone told us the day goes by quickly and to enjoy every last moment. We really tried but the day goes by SO quickly. Make a weekend of it and rent a house – it’s so fun.”
